Home Emergency Kit

An emergency could happen at any time and have a variety of consequences. One way to be better prepared is to have a readymade emergency pack in your home that is stored in an accessible area.

An emergency pack could contain the following things:

• Battery powered radio.

• Torch.

• Spare batteries.

• First Aid kit.

• A list of useful phone numbers, such as your doctor's and close relatives'.

• Bottled water / Canned Drinks.

• Evacuation Checklist.

The Evacuation Checklist could include items such as:

• Your Emergency Pack.

• Warm clothing and blankets.

• Essential medication and personal items e.g. spectacles.

• Baby food, nappies.

• Wallet, purse and bank cards.

• Mobile phone and charger.

• Home and car keys.

• Toiletries, sanitary supplies and any regularly prescribed medication.

• Pet carrier/collar & lead.
